Online Learning Sessions
Personalised learning support for homeschooling families
Looking for a little extra support with your child’s learning?
My online learning sessions provide a supportive, engaging space for children to build their skills, practise new concepts and grow in confidence — all from the comfort of home.
Designed for homeschooling families, these sessions offer additional learning opportunities alongside your existing homeschool routine. Whether your child needs extra practice, would benefit from learning in a small group, or simply enjoys connecting with others while learning, there may be a session to suit your family.
Learning should build confidence, not add pressure. My goal is to help children feel supported, capable and encouraged as they develop their skills.
What are online learning sessions?
My online learning sessions are small-group lessons delivered online, focusing on key English and Mathematics skills for primary-aged children.
Sessions are designed to be interactive and engaging, with opportunities for children to practise skills, work through activities and participate in learning in a supportive environment.
Rather than simply working through worksheets, sessions may include discussions, games, hands-on activities, visual supports and guided practice to help children understand and apply what they are learning.
Sessions are planned with specific learning goals in mind, while allowing room to adjust activities to suit the needs and abilities of the group.
What will children learn?
Sessions focus on developing foundational English and Mathematics skills, with topics varying throughout the year.
English may include:
- Phonics, decoding and spelling
- Reading fluency and comprehension
- Vocabulary and language skills
- Sentence construction and writing
- Developing confidence with literacy activities
Mathematics may include:
- Number and place value
- Addition and subtraction
- Multiplication and division
- Number lines and partitioning
- Mathematical thinking and problem-solving
Each session has a clear focus, giving children opportunities to revisit important concepts, practise skills and build understanding over time.
Who are the sessions for?
My online learning sessions are designed for primary-aged children, with groups organised around suitable year levels and learning goals.
They may suit families who are looking to:
- Provide extra practice alongside their homeschool program.
- Help their child strengthen foundational English or Mathematics skills.
- Build confidence with concepts they find challenging.
- Give their child opportunities to participate in small-group learning.
- Add some variety and connection to their homeschool week.
Children do not need to be following my workbooks to participate. These sessions can complement a range of homeschooling approaches, whether you follow a structured curriculum, prefer a more flexible routine, or use a combination of both.
What makes my sessions different?
I understand that every child learns differently. Some children need repetition and extra practice, while others benefit from talking through a problem, seeing a visual example or using hands-on materials.
My sessions aim to make learning approachable and engaging, with a focus on understanding rather than simply getting the right answer.
I use a range of teaching strategies and activities to help children participate, practise and develop confidence. Children are encouraged to have a go, ask questions and learn from mistakes in a supportive environment.
As a homeschooling parent myself, I understand the importance of finding support that fits into family life without making your week feel even busier.
How do the sessions work?
- Online delivery: Join from home using Zoom.
- Small-group learning: Children learn alongside a small group of peers.
- Focused topics: Each session has a specific English or Mathematics focus.
- Interactive activities: Learning may include games, discussion, guided practice and visual or hands-on resources.
- Resources: Families will receive information about any resources needed before the session, where applicable.
- Ongoing learning: Sessions are designed to build skills over time, rather than treating each lesson as a standalone activity.
For the best experience, children will need a suitable device, a reliable internet connection and a quiet space where they can participate as comfortably as possible.
What will we need?
Depending on the session, children may need a few simple resources, such as:
- A small whiteboard and marker
- Paper and pencils
- Counters, blocks or LEGO
- Printed activities or reading materials supplied in advance
I will let families know what is needed before each session so you have time to prepare.
